Asus ZenFone 5 LTE and ZenFone DIY smartphones rumored

There’s news today of two new arrivals for the Asus ZenFone lineup, although at this stage there’s not too much solid information. The Asus ZenFone 5 LTE and ZenFone DIY smartphones are rumored to be on the way and we’ll tell you what we’ve heard so far.
Starting with the ZenFone 5 LTE, this is fairly self-explanatory as an LTE version of the recently released ZenFone 5. However, it’s claimed that this will be powered by a Qualcomm processor rather than the Intel variety used in the ZenFone 5, and that it could also feature wireless charging. Other specs will be similar though, such as a 5-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720.
The ZenFone DIY is slightly more of a puzzle, and about all that has leaked so far is that it could be customizable (as maybe the name suggests), in the same sort of way as the popular Moto X. It’s possible that these new Asus devices could be made official next month at Computex 2014.

Toshiba releases ultra thin 20MP CMOS image sensor for high end smartphones

Toshiba released a brand new 20MP CMOS image sensor, designed specifically with high-end mobile devices in mind. Sporting the rather uninspiring model number T4KA7, the 1.12 micron component will allow the development of sub-6mm camera modules.
Toshiba T4KA7 has an optical size of 1/2.4” and features high-speed circuit technology that allows it to deliver 22fps at full resolution image capture. The aforementioned result represents an 83% improvement over Toshiba’s previous 20MP sensor.

The T4KA7 sensor has a pixel count of 5384 x 3752 pixels. Its advanced digital zoom capability prevents image quality deterioration even at high focal lengths.
Samples of the T4KA7 image sensor began shipping to Toshiba partners last month, priced at a tad under $20. Mass production of the component is expected to kick off in February 2015, so we can reasonably expect to see the T4KA7 in devices at some point in the middle of next year.

Compilation of the best smartphones of 2014

Compilation

2014 is ending and like every year is a time to take stock. We begin our summary of this year with a compilation of the best smartphones to 5.4 inches. The 5.5-inch onwards you have them in a different classification dedicated to phablets. For once, try to get the best devices of each platform (iOS, Android, Windows) leaving out of consideration or price range. We seek the best of the best.

Before starting, say that this is subjective compilations that try to justify in the best way possible and that bears no specific order. This does not mean that do not fit other possibilities and let us out very good terminals (the list could be very long) the best smartphones of 2014. We will be happy to read your choices in the comments if you consider that one was worthy to be here.

IPhone 6

Compilation

The latest smartphone from Apple remains one of the most popular months after its release. A terminal that is poised to break records … again. The iPhone 6 gives finally jump size that many users have been clamoring to sign Cupertino, and can say that its 4.7-inch screen is one of the great successes. Performance is assured with the second generation of 64-bit processor Apple, the A8, an improvement that adds to a long list that includes the camera, TouchID behavior, etc. In terms of design, there are not many that can be compared to the metal body of 6.9 mm thickness iPhone 6. A common and one that could not miss in this list .

 Sony Xperia Z3

Compilation

We turn to Android and we do that is for many the best terminal of less than 5.5 inch platform. Sony’s strategy of launching two flagships in one year has helped them earn some criticism, but also to perfect a complete smartphone, with an enviable design with classic rear glass and a power that only the best dare challenge (Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM). Moreover, its 20.7 megapixel camera is the best that can be found on the market and if we add the great multimedia experience offered is well deserved his presence. If 5.2 inches are still many for you, you can resort to the Compact version, which remains virtually all other features.

 HTC One M8

Compilation

This device is here for two reasons. The first is that it is one of the most beautiful designs platforms Google. It is undisputed that the rounded line with metallic finish gives it a very attractive elegant look. Good screen, large memory section, same processor that all high end of the first half of 2014 (Snapdragon 801), good battery and a camera with ultrapixel technology but has not finished work very well, was risky and innovative.

The second reason is strain the HTC One M8 in this classification is because there is a Windows version, submitted a posteriori of Android. This version is one of the outstanding examples of the Microsoft platform this year, except for the Lumia 930 (should be chosen if a more extensive list option) has not made big news, remain concerning some models of Nokia 2013.

 Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Compilation

Quite disappointed with Samsung Galaxy S5 in February but has managed to regroup throughout the year with Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4. Although the latter does not fall within the parameters of this collection, the first of which itself deserves a place . It is a terminal that has completely changed the direction of the South Korean company, including the metal edge that will have its impact in the long term, something that makes it noteworthy. But also, have achieved a device that besides being very pretty and have pretty successful dimensions, works great. And that, without mounting hardware as pointer . It has been one of the pleasant surprises of 2014 and why we think it should be.

 Xiaomi Mi4

Compilation

The last part of this compilation has been the most difficult to choose. There are as we have said, many good candidates as the Motorola Moto X (2014) with its advanced voice recognition system or Honor 6, Huawei brand in Europe that has been released this year, or self-Galaxy S5. Finally we have opted for the Xiaomi Mi4, because the Chinese company is doing very well for some time and has been placed as the fourth largest producer of smartphones in the world and this deserves a mention. For though we said that we would consider the price, its value is the very best that can be found and because its specifications (Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM, 5 inches Full HD screen, 13 megapixel camera) so placed in the leading group of the best smartphones of 2014.

So if you are the type that has a Blackberry device with HotSpot capability you can also use your Etisalat and Airtel hotstpot on your phone and share to your devices like tablet, Android & iOS phone and your PC. Etisalat BIS codes are shown below.
While some have argued that they are able to use GLO, Etisalat and MTN BIS on their Android, , iOS and Windows Phone smartphones and tablets, it may require additional tweaking and settings of your phone and its not guaranteed to work.

However, if you are successful in making other telecoms BIS apart from Airtel work for you, we would appreciate if you share how you go it to work on your phone or tablet.

If you still want to subscribe to GLO, MTN and Etisalat BIS plans then the best thing is to visit their web sites to know the latest package codes as these networks tend to change their rates and codes at times. MTN BIS have been reported to work on Android of recent (Sept. 25th 2013)

As promised am constantly monitoring when BlackBerry will release BBM for Android and iOS as a BlackBerry developer and would let you guys know immediately so that you would be among the first to download.
