Eye Salient not bother so you might as well give it a try if you have an old Android phones lying around you.

We are all familiar with the routine registration of new applications; provide your email, create a unique username and password. It usually is not complicated and it is a predictable step, but still a process.

We were surprised after opening Salient Eye for the first time found that there was no up-linking, email requests personal or up-front collection of other information. Instead, you are immediately presented with a large green button in the center of the screen for "arming" app and the green button below to opt in and out of emails, text alerts, enable / disable the siren, and remote access. That pretty much sums up the app.

You must have a device that is positioned to record before pressing arm. Move the entire device or across the field of view of the camera will cause the Eye Salient app-arming countdown to reset (you can adjust anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes). After that any movement in the range of the camera will send Salient Eye into a frenzy.

First, it will take a ton of photos of the action, then send a text, email or both, and will be followed by a siren. Of course, you can also adjust the volume of the siren is based on the parameters of a mobile phone or tablet, but it is hard. If not scare away thieves, at least it will disrupt and disorient them.

A password security with a four-digit code that you choose will disarm Salient Eye. And, as you can access the arm and disarm function of tip Eyes Remote app, you do not need to be in the room to disarm the camera. By doing so, you will not feel anxious about your neighbors.

Testing Applications

Salient Eye for iphone very reliable, we have tested this app on a Samsung Galaxy S5 and receive text and email alerts on the iPhone 6 Plus. In addition to some of the features available on the home screen, Salient eye does have a section setting where you can make some custom tweaks. You can change the period of time between warning ranging from 5 to 30 minutes and set the sensitivity of the motion sensor for motion low, medium or high, and the time needed to arm applications (ranging from 10 seconds to 5 minutes). And you can activate a warning relating to internet outages, the power supply is disconnected and the battery is low. It only provides enough to give you a bit of freedom in application.

IP Webcam is another Android-specific application that can convert the device into a security camera. We have not checked the IP webcams, but it seems closer to Manything or presence in terms of functionality. Having a continuous stream, so you can check in at home or at a remote office in a web browser, although it does not look quite as well designed as iOS his partner.

End Eye app does not have IFTTT channels and does not work with third-party products, but in this case we do not mind. Salient Eye do some things very well and that seems to work for them so far. And non-Android users do not need to feel left out - the iOS version of Essential Eye is under construction.

Automatic Functions

Salient Eye can transform your Android device with a camera into the security system is armed. With the new ARM Cortex A72, probably expected in the future processors Snapdragon 618 and 620 from Qualcomm and its VPU Mali-V550, it will be possible to shoot Ultra HD at a rate of 120 frames per second. In other words, it will also be possible to create slow motion in 4K, slowing up to five times (at 24 fps) the speed of the video.

ARM

If this type of functionality remains accessory for the average user, the Ultra HD video capture has nevertheless established itself last year in the image sensors of our smartphones and it will probably even next year with the 4K to 120 fps.

At present, when it comes to film at 120 frames per second, Android smartphones are still limited to HD 720p resolution. Once in Full HD video capture, it then goes to 60 frames per second. Android

WhatsApp for Android has a switch that lets you stop images and videos from downloading. Heres how you can do it:

1. Open WhatsApp, make sure you are seeing the main window - where all your chats are displayed. Tap the three vertical dots on the top right > Settings.

2. Now tap Chat settings > Media auto-download. Youll see three options: When using cellular data, When connected on Wi-Fi and When roaming. Tap each one and disable auto-downloads by unchecking all three options - Images, Audio and Video.

To view photos, you will have to download them. When you do, WhatsApp saves them in a folder, and you can get inundated with stupid memes and other unwanted content, which is visible to anyone who opens your phones Gallery App. However, it is possible to stop these photos from appearing in the Gallery app. Heres how:

1. Download Quickpic and open the app.

2. Navigate to the WhatsApp media folders. The location of the WhatsApp folder varies across devices but it should typically be the following: Internal Storage (sometimes labelled sdcard0) > WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Images, > WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Audio, and WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Videos.

3. Long-press the WhatsApp Images folder and make sure that it is selected. Do the same with the WhatsApp Video and WhatsApp Audio folders.

4. After selecting the three folders, tap the three dots icon on the top-right > Hide. This will ensure that the Gallery app doesnt show them. You can still view these images and videos within WhatsApp and through any apps that let you view hidden folders. But if you pass your phone to someone, you no longer need worry about them seeing the WhatsApp photos and videos through the Gallery app.

iPhone

WhatsApp for iPhone has an easy way to stop automatically saving photos to the Camera Roll. Heres what you can do:

1. Open WhatsApp and tap the Settings button at the bottom-right.

2. Go to Chat settings > Save incoming media > Off.

This stops the pictures people are sending from showing up in the camera roll, and taking over your synced Photo Stream. Unfortunately, theres no way to stop WhatsApp from auto-downloading photos on your iPhone. It will ask you whether you want to download videos, but photos are saved automatically.

BlackBerry

Whether you are using BlackBerry 7 or BlackBerry 10, disabling auto-downloads needs to be done through the Settings app. Follow these steps if you are using WhatsApp on any BlackBerry device:

1. Head to Settings > Media settings > Media auto-download.

2. Now select When using cellular data and uncheck all three options - Images, Audio and Video. Go back and follow the same steps with "When connected on Wi-Fi" and "When roaming".

3. In Media Settings, you can also tap "Save media on" to decide if the media is saved on your phones internal memory, or on your microSD card (if present).

Windows Phone

Windows Phone users need to follow these steps:

1. Open WhatsApp and tap the three horizontal dots at the bottom of the main window (recent chats). Now tap settings > chat settings > media auto-download.

2. Now tap Images and select Never. Do the same for Video and Audio. Other options include auto-download on WiFi, cellular and roaming. But if you select Never, you will be able to download media only when you want to.

Nokia S40 and S60

If you use WhatsApp on Nokia S40 feature phones, you can enable or disable media downloads through this setting:

1. Open Options > Settings > Network > Auto-download images. Here you can disable auto-downloads.

It is almost exactly the same on Nokia S60 phones as well:

1. Open Options > Settings > Network > Media auto-download. Now select Cellular and disable auto-downloads for media. Do the same with WiFi and Roaming.

Not saving images automatically has its advantages, but it also means that you will have to download each photo manually. Samsung has officially slashed the price of Galaxy Core 2 to Rs. 8,007. The smartphone is available on Samsung Indias official online store at the new price.

Notably, the Galaxy Core 2 was launched in July at a price of Rs. 11,900. The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 smartphone is the successor to the popular Galaxy Core launched in June last year at Rs. 15,690.

The price cut was first tipped on Wednesday by established Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh, saying retail price had been dropped to Rs. 7,990.

The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 supports dual-SIM and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with the companys TouchWiz Essence UI on top. It comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) TFT display.

It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 768MB of RAM. The Galaxy Core 2 sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and VGA (0.3-megapixel) front-facing camera. The 4GB of inbuilt storage on the Galaxy Core 2 is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB).

Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB and 3G. The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 is powered by a 2000mAh battery. The handset measures 130.3x68x9.8mm and weighs 138 grams.

Earlier this month, Samsung had also launched the successor to the popular Galaxy S Duos 2 in India, the Galaxy S Duos 3, priced at Rs. 8,150.

The smartphone is also available on the Samsungs India store.
