Apple airs new holiday ad Misunderstood featuring iPhone 5s and more

Apple has kept with its annual tradition of airing a seasonal ad featuring Apple devices in holiday settings. Last night, the companys 2013 holiday ad aired; its 90 seconds long, noticeably longer than most TV spots. Its set to the tune of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and shows a family gathering for the holiday.

We wont spoil the emotional twist of the ad, but the title -- combined with early scenes of a teenage boy who seems to be distancing himself from the celebrations around him by burying his nose in his iPhone -- may give you a hint where this is going.

You can check out Apples annual tearjerker below.

TP LINK shows off her new routers

TP-LINK

TP-LINK has shown the keys to its new generation products for this 2015. Among the new features that have been presented are the routers Archer C2600 and Archer C3200 for homes and small businesses, the Powerline TL-PA8030 adapter transmit the internet signal through electricity or portable batteries TP-LINK PB50, TL-PB5200 and TL-PB2600 smartphones and tablets to charge anywhere. We tell you all the details have been revealed about these useful tools for day to day.

TP-LINK

Started by routers Archer C2600 and Archer C3200 . These teams are geared for use in homes and small businesses. One of its main features is that these new generation routers work with the WiFi AC standard. Machines that support this protocol (like many smartphones and high-end laptops in recent months) may benefit from a more stable connection with speeds up to 2.6 Gbps. This speed is distributed in 800 Mbps bandwidth of 2.4 GHz (which is typically operating most devices) and 1.733 Mbps bandwidth of 5 GHz. In addition, we also have the technology WiFi MIMO, which uses multiple antennas to improve network stability and get more power to the corners of the house. Finally, TP-LINK has sought to highlight the ability of Archer C3200 to establish point to point connections with up to three different computers, which significantly improves the speed and prevents annoying bottlenecks in the home network or company.

TP-LINK

The next model is the TP-LINK PA-8030. In this case, we have a Powerline adapter that transmits the signal from the network directly through the electric current. This construction uses the signal from the router and can connect to any free household outlet. Its major advantages are in scope, up to 300 meters through the electrical wiring and the fact that only signal loss occurs off the WiFi network. The TP-LINK PA-8030 reaches speeds up to 1.2 Gbps and has three Ethernet ports to plug in three different teams. It also integrates MIMO technology to improve power and signal quality.

Finally, TP-LINK has also presented three laptop batteries for mobile phones and smartphones. These models TP-LINK PB50, TP-LINK TL-PB5200, and TP-LINK TL-PB2600 . The first battery TP-LINK PB50 has a capacity of 10,000 milliamps, which is designed for both smartphones (up to five charges an average terminal) as tablets. This model has two USB ports, one of 1A and 2A another to load faster tablets. The TP-LINK TL-PB5200 model lowers its voltage up to 5,200 milliamps with a USB port 2A. Finally battery TP-LINK TL-PB2600 is the one with a more compact and easy-to-carry in your pocket, with a capacity of 2,600 milliamps and a USB port 1A.

NVIDIA announces GTX 980 and GTX 970 based on the new Maxwell architecture

NVIDIA has announced two new graphics cards for the PC, the flagship single-GPU GTX 980 and the mid-range GTX 970. Both are based on NVIDIA’s 10th generation Maxwell architecture, which succeeds Kepler.
Other than being more powerful, the two new graphics cards also introduce some new technologies from NVIDIA, including Voxel Global Illumination (VXGI), which enables real-time global illumination. This enables the light to reflect off surfaces more naturally, and the resultant illumination is more realistic and accurate.

There’s also MFAA, or Multi-Frame Sampled Anti-Aliasing, which is a more efficient form of traditional Multisample Anti-Aliasing. NVIDIA claims it offers the image quality of 4X MSAA at the performance of 2x MSAA.
Another new feature is Dynamic Super Resolution, which is generally known as supersampling. What this feature does is it renders the game at a higher resolution than your monitor. So if you have a 1080p monitor, the graphics card will render the game at 4K or higher and then downsample it down to fit your screen. The resultant image is cleaner and has less aliasing. This is sometimes present in games and available as SSAA or FSAA options within anti-aliasing settings but in this case, NVIDIA is doing it within its own GeForce Experience software rather than letting the game do it, assuming the game has the option.
There are also improvements to cater to VR applications, such as VR SLI where you can assign multiple GPUs for a specific eye, asynchronous warp that reduces latency in half, and auto stereo, which improves game compatibility with devices such as Oculus Rift.
The GTX 980 and GTX 970 will be available from various hardware partners, including ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac. The prices start at $549 for the GTX 980 and $329 for the GTX 970.

Nokia XL Dual SIM Review The New X Family

The Nokia XL is the best and the brightest of the new X family but, again, its a step up from the Asha lineup rather than something to compete with Nokias Windows Phone offerings or even most Androids.

The Nokia XL officially targets €110 ($150), though its currently on pre-order at €130 ($180). Admittedly, there are few phones in this price segment to have a large 5" screen, especially dual-SIM ones.

The screen has good viewing angles and colors, though sunlight legibility couldve been better. The low resolution is what hurts it the most though - getting a 5" screen suggests youll be reading plenty of text and small type just looks off due to the low pixel density.

For performance well say this - its not KitKat-on-Snapdragon smooth, but you can use it daily without annoying hang-ups or slowdowns. The Nokia XL also enjoys a rich app library, Windows Phone had a tougher start in its early days.

The camera was a half pleasant surprise too, the still camera can be a good 5MP shooter with some tweaking. The video camera doesnt cut it though. That said, its miles ahead of what Asha phones could do (VGA at ~20fps at best, typically QVGA @ 15 fps).

There are a few other things youll need to tweak when you buy the Nokia XL too, including syncing your contacts either manually or via an app. Getting a microSD card is also a must, the 1GB or so left available to the user is just not enough.

We do appreciate the Nokia HERE Drive app though - with a license for offline navigation of most of the world and a large screen with good viewing angels, the XL can easily beat a dedicated SatNav and twice as expensive Androids (dont forget to add the price of an offline navigation app when looking at other phones).

LG puts up a new image of their G Watch

LG’s upcoming wearable, the G Watch has been circulating the internet and the Korean tech manufacturer decided to release something to whet our appetites: a new teaser picture.

As you can see above, the ad shows off the smartwatch’s water and dust resistance.
This seems to be a good marketing strategy for LG, as the idea of strapping a small computer to your wrist doesn’t exactly instill ideas of durability or practicality in the minds of most consumers.
The G Watch does seem like an interesting concept: an understated Android Smartwatch that won’t balk at the threat of dust and water. LG’s upcoming wearable is also expected to rock a 1.65” display along with 4GB of storage built into the watch.
There haven’t been any additional details about the tech specs or price of the device.

Huawei Ascend GX1 a new phablet with 6 inch screen

Huawei seems to like devices with large screens, as well proves the existence of the model Ascend Mate 7. Anyway, it seems that a new phablet of this company would be close to reaching the market with a six-inch screen. We refer to the device called Huawei Ascend GX1.

The quality of the panel that this new device will offer 720p, so it seems that we are being a terminal intended for mid-range product and, therefore, expects a competitive price (which is common in Huawei, by other side). The fact is that the information comes from the certification China TENAA, so do not speak of mere speculation, but specific data.

Other details that have known the Huawei Ascend GX1 is that will support LTE networks, so that he can take advantage of 4G tariffs currently on the market. Besides, your processor is a quad-core model that operates at a frequency of 1.4 GHz (bet on a SoC Kirin’s own China Company is doing to “winning horse” but nothing is confirmed here).

Huawei

Other features that are heading in the Huawei Ascend GX1 are the main chamber will have 8 megapixels secondary 2Mpx, so it is clear that seeks to offer an economic model. Besides, the version of the operating system which has passed the tests in TENAA entity is Android 4.4.2, which is not exactly the most current but at least it KitKat.

Anyway, it seems that Huawei is committed to offer a product range as wide as possible, relying on all existing (including that integrates the most powerful models). With this terminal, for example, is to stand up to the device as Xiaomi Redmi Note or Samsung Galaxy Grand. A little accompanying the RAM, it is not known which integrate this model, surely you will get it.

Do not have a specific date for the Huawei Ascend GX1 is presented, but the latest is expected to do so before the end of January 2015. As for the price, this will be around the $ 255 (about 210 euros).

New Samsung Galaxy Note 4 S LTE the first LTE A Tri Band CA

Samsung

Samsung has made official the new model of its flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 4 now comes with surname S-LTE and offers several important changes at the hardware level, particularly in processor and 4G connectivity.

The Korean manufacturer has used what little remains of 2014 to make official a new model of your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 if he was already one of the leading terminals, currently stands as most powerful terminal. Note that this version is finally materializing a rumor that has been around for the entire month of December that was based on information from industry to appear then recorded in the test Geekbench as Samsung SM-N916S

A new Snapdragon 810 under the hood

And is that among the novelties that this new device is the renewal Snapdragon 805 processor (2.7 GHz quadcore) – but there is still also a version with the Exynos 5433 Octa – the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. Although we must point out that Samsung does not confirm the presence of this chip in its new terminal, is something that is almost forced to support other features that do are announced by the Asian company, support LTE connectivity -Advanced Tri-Band CA.

Samsung

Download speed up to 450 Mbps

These last two stands for “carrier aggregation” or what is the same, the ability of this technology to combine 2 or more channels LTE into one. As you add more, you can climb speed. And it is necessary that the Snapdragon 810 since lead is the integrated modem that will support this capability is present. Specifically allow downloads of up to 450 Mbps, which is identified as LTE Cat 9 and exceeds the LTE-A current peaks reaching 300 Mbps (although these are laboratory data, you can see as far as the speed of the new 4G + networks Vodafone and Movistar LTE-A in our real test). As indicated by Samsung in its press release, this allows downloading a 700 MB file in just 19 seconds or 10 songs from 40 MB in just a second.

Although, as indicated, Samsung does not confirm the processor that carries the new Note 4 S-LTE, which moreover repeats other features like 5.7 inch QHD screen, 16 MP camera and front 3.7 MP, memory of 32 GB with microSD slot and even the dimensions of 153.5 mm long by 78.6 mm wide and 8.5 mm thick. The reason we cannot announce that carries a Snapdragon 810 is precisely that Qualcomm has not yet given a specific date for availability of this chip. Samsung already surprised us with the presence of Gorilla Glass 4 in Note 4, which was not announced at launch so it would not be surprising that the same thing happen again with this device.

The new model, as usual, will first sale in South Korea in January and, we assume, that will be offered later in the countries where they develop LTE Cat 9 services, moreover will be shown at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015.
